Alvesco Details (Brand and Generic)

Our Canadian pharmacy offers Alvesco at very competitive prices. We have the brand Alvesco from Canada manufactured by AstraZeneca. The generic Ciclesonide is currently unavailable.

Dosage

Alvesco is sold in the strength of 100 mcg/120 dose and 200 mcg/120 dose inhaler.

Usage

Alvesco (Inhalation Aerosol) is a prescription medication used to help reduce asthma inflammation. Ciclesonide is a man-made corticosteroid used to inhibit inflammation in the lungs of people who suffer from asthma. It can prevent asthma attacks in adults and children who are at least 12 years old. This medication should be used regularly to prevent or control asthma symptoms, but should not be used as a rescue inhaler.

Side Effects

The possible Alvesco side effects include back pain, dry mouth or irritation, headache, hoarse voice, mild itching or skin rash, joint pain, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, or unpleasant taste in the mouth. Inform your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Bronchospasm;
• Signs of an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, hives, swelling of the face/lips/tongue/throat);
• Sores or white patches in the mouth or throat;
• Vision problems;
• Wheezing, choking or other breathing problems after use;
• Worsening asthma symptoms

Precautions and Interactions

Get emergency medical help immediately if you have signs of an allergic reaction to Ciclesonide: hives, difficult breathing, and swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
• Adrenal gland problems;
• Eye problems such as glaucoma, cataracts, herpes infection of the eye;
• Liver problems;
• Osteoporosis;
• Tuberculosis;
• Underactive thyroid;
• Untreated infections

Follow your doctor’s advice and follow all medication guidelines for your medication. Use it exactly as prescribed. This medication is often used twice daily, in the morning or evening. The Alvesco inhaler must be primed before your first use or any time you haven’t used the inhaler for 10 days or more. Follow instructions on how to prime and use the inhaler, refer to the patient instructions provided with the medication. Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after each. You should not stop this medication suddenly. Store the inhaler at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Make sure it is not near open flames or left in a hot car. Never puncture or burn an empty canister. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Talk to your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, OTC, and herbal medications. Also tell them about any vitamins and supplements you take. There may be an interaction between Alvesco and other medications, especially if you are taking:
• an antibiotic--clarithromycin, erythromycin, telithromycin;
• an antifungal medication--clotrimazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole, voriconazole;
• an antidepressant such as nefazodone, paroxetine, sertraline; or
• HIV/AIDS medicine--atazanavir, delavirdine, indinavir, nelfinavir, saquinavir, ritonavir (Norvir).
