Usage

Monovisc (Sodium Hyaluronate) is a prescription medication used to treat knee pain caused by osteoarthritis. The active ingredient is similar to the fluid that surrounds the joints in the body; it acts as a lubricant and shock absorber. Monovisc is typically given when patients do not get adequate pain relief from simple pain relievers like around the clock a acetaminophen (Tylenol). You should start feeling relief of osteoarthritis knee pain in two weeks after injection and it can last for up to six months. Side Effects and Precautions

Hyaluronan (hyaluronic acid) is not approved for use by anyone younger than 21 years old.
