Uloric Information
Uloric (Generic name: Febuxostat) is a NEW alternative used for treatment and prevention of gout caused by excessive levels of uric acid in the blood (hyperuricemia). Uloric contains active ingredient Febuxostat. Febuxostat is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor that works by reducing the amount of uric acid made by the body. Increased uric acid levels can cause gout and kidney stones. Take Uloric exactly as it was prescribed for you.
Uloric Side Effects:
The most common Uloric side effects are dizziness, gout flares, joint pain, nausea, rash, and stomach upset. If you are experiencing any serious side effects such as chest pain, confusion, jaundice, urination pain, vision changes, and a sign of severe allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; hives; itching; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.
Uloric Precautions:
Do NOT take Uloric if you are allergic to Febuxostat or any of the ingredients in Uloric medication. Ulric is NOT used to treat high uric acid without gout. Before taking Uloric oral, tell your doctor about your medical history including cancer, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, organ transplant, and stroke. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you are taking. They may interact with Uloric drug, especially of xo (xanthine oxidase) substrate drugs e.g., azathioprine, mercaptopurine, theophylline. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
