Uribel is a combination urinary antispasmodic drug used to treat discomfort, pain, frequent urinary urgency, and cramps or spasms caused by urinary tract infections or certain medical procedures.

This medication combines many types of drugs to provide relief from muscle spasms and pain while helping fight bacteria in your bladder and urine. Methenamine and methylene blue offer antiseptic and antibacterial properties while hyoscyamine reduces muscle spasms, phenyl salicylate relieves pain, and sodium phosphate monobasic supports your urinary health.

All the drugs used in this medication allow Uribel to provide relief from symptoms of urinary tract infections while helping kill bacteria to get rid of your infection.

Dosage and Administration

The dose of Uribel that is prescribed may vary depending on the individual being treated. Follow all your healthcare provider’s instructions and read packaging labels carefully to ensure the best therapeutic results during treatment. Do not change your dose without talking to your healthcare provider.

  • Drink plenty of water during treatment
  • Most adults take one capsule 4 times each day

Serious Side Effects

Allergic Reactions

Wait at least an hour before or after taking a Uribel dose to take an antacid or anti-diarrhea medication. These medicines can make it harder for your body to absorb some of the ingredients in Uribel.

Many drugs can interact with Uribel and cause adverse reactions. Tell your healthcare provider about all the medications that you take, including over the counter medicines, but especially any of the following:

  • Antidepressant medicines

  • Stimulant medications
  • Cold or allergy medicines
  • ADHD medication
  • Narcotic pain medicine

  • Triptan migraine medication
  • Diuretic medicines
  • Medications that affect your urine’s acidity (sodium bicarbonate, potassium citrate, and others)
  • Other bladder or urinary medicines (darifenacin, fesoterodine, oxybutynin, and more)
  • Sulfa drugs
