Omnaris Nasal Spray Details (Brand and Generic)

Usage

Omnaris Nasal Spray (Ciclesonide Nasal Spray) is used to treat symptoms of the nose such as stuffiness, congestion, itching, and sneezing. Omnaris can be used to treat seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children who are at least 6 years old. It is also used to treat year-round perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children over the age of 12 years old. Ciclesonide belongs to the class of drugs known as corticosteroids. It works by reducing inflammation of the nasal passages.

Side Effects and Precautions

Stop using the medication and get medical care if you have an allergic reaction. Signs of an allergic reaction may include difficulty breathing, hives (rash on your body), swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat—If you experience any of these symptoms, please call 911 or seek emergency medical care at the nearest emergency room (ER).

The common side effects of Omnaris may include ear pain, headache, nasal irritation, nosebleed, ear pain. It is not common but steroids given in the nose can be absorbed into the bloodstream. Nasal steroid medication can be absorbed into your bloodstream, which can cause side effects of too much corticosteroids that may include depression, changes in sexual function, increased body hair, irregular menstrual periods, muscle weakness, slow healing of wounds, etc.
