Vagifem Vaginal Tablet (estradiol) Indications

Vagifem, generic name estradiol, is a vaginal tablet prescribed for the treatment of atrophic vaginitis in menopausal women. It helps relieve vaginal symptoms, such as vaginal dryness, irritation, soreness, itching, pain during intercourse, and painful urination.

This medication is classified as an estrogen derivative. Vagifem is partly in control of the maintenance and development of the female reproductive system and secondary sexual characteristics. It also regulates the pituitary secretion of gonadotropins, follicle-stimulating hormone, and luteinizing hormone.
