Edronax (Reboxetine) is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI) used to treat major depressive disorder in adults. It has also been used for panic disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Edronax may also be used for purposes not listed above. Edronax needs to be taken consistently for you to feel the full effects. It may take a week or two after starting this medication for you to feel the benefits. Do not stop taking this medication against the instructions of your doctor. Edronax tablets contain the active ingredient reboxetine, which is a type of antidepressant known as a selective noradrenaline re-uptake inhibitor. This type of medicine acts on nerve cells in the brain. In the brain there are numerous different chemical compounds called neurotransmitters. These act as chemical messengers between the nerve cells. Noradrenaline is one such neurotransmitter and has various functions. When noradrenaline is released from nerve cells in the brain, it acts to lighten mood. Depression is caused by a decreased amount of noradrenaline released from the nerve cells in the brain. When it is reabsorbed into the nerve cells, it no longer has an effect on mood.
