Wellbutrin XL (Bupropion Hydrochloride 24hr ER tablet) is used to treat major depression and it also prevents autumn-winter seasonal depression. Bupropion belongs to the group of medications known as antidepressants. It works by affecting the balance of noradrenaline and dopamine, chemicals that occur naturally in the brain and affect mood. The full effects of the medication may not be seen until after several weeks of treatment. The recommended starting dose of bupropion extended release tablets is 150mg taken in the morning. This dose can be increased to 300mg daily after one week.

We currently have the brand from Turkey and the brand from Canada manufactured by Valeant. The generic Bupropion XL comes Actavis or Mylan in Canada, it also may come from India and is manufactured by Sun Pharma (also called Bupron XL). Wellbutrin XL is available in the strength of 150mg and 300mg tablets.
Common side effects include:
Anxiety, dry mouth, hyperventilation, irregular heartbeats, irritability, restlessness, shaking, shortness of breath, trouble sleeping.
Less common side effects include:
Buzzing or ringing in the ears, severe headache, skin rash, and hives or itching.
Rare side effects include:
Confusion, fainting, seizures, trouble concentrating
Do not use Wellbutrin XL if you are allergic to Bupropion Hydrochloride or any of the ingredients in this medication. Talk to your doctor about all the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications before you start using this medication. Do not drink alcohol while you are taking this medication. There may be an interaction between bupropion extended release tablets and other medications such as alcohol, clopidogrel, beta-blockers, levodopa, etc.
