Azilect Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com dispenses Azilect indicated for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease at the lowest possible price. We currently offer the brand name Azilect from Canada and Turkey manufactured by Teva. The generic alternative, Rasagiline is manufactured in India also called Rasalect by Sun Pharma and Relgin by Intas Pharma. We also carry the generic from Canada by a different manufacturer.

Dosage

Azilect is available in the strength of 0.5mg and 1mg tablets.

Usage

Azilect (Rasagiline) is used for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. Rasagiline is an enzyme blocker (MAO inhibitor). This medication may be used alone or with other medications (e.g, levodopa, carbidopa) to treat movement disorders caused by Parkinson’s disease. This medication works by increasing the levels of certain chemicals (dopamine) in the brain. Rasagiline does not cure Parkinson’s disease, but it may improve shakiness (tremor), muscle stiffness, and sudden switching between normal movement and stiffness (“on-off” problems). It may also improve your range of motion and ability to walk, dress, and exercise.

Side Effects

The common side effects for Azilect include constipation, diarrhea, stomach pain, vomiting, dry mouth, decreased appetite, headache, depressed mood, dizziness, spinning sensation, hair loss, skin rash, impotence, low libido, and strange dreams. The serious side effects include:
• Dangerously high blood pressure
• Fever, fast heart rate, overactive reflexes, tremors, muscle twitching
• Passing out/fainting
• Sudden numbness or weakness
• Unusual thoughts/behavior, agitation, hallucinations

If you still have questions about side effects, we always suggest further conversations with your doctor.

Warnings and Interactions

Do not take Azilect if you are allergic to Rasagiline. Before you start taking this medication, inform your doctor about your medical conditions and about all the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. Inform your doctor if you have a medical history of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, severe or frequent headaches, liver disease, mental or mood disorder, sleep disorder or a certain kind of adrenal gland tumor. It is unknown whether Azilect will harm an unborn baby. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using Azilect. It is unknown whether Rasagiline passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Azilect may slow breast milk production. You should not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. There may be a drug interaction between azilect and other medications such as diethylpropion, atomoxetine, bupropion, buspirone, carbamazepine, cyclobenzaprine, dextromethorphan, tetrabenazine, sumatriptan, rizatriptan, zolmitriptan and valbenazine, etc.

Questions and Answers

Why is Azilect more affordable from Canada than the United States?

In general, all drug prices, not only Azilect, are more affordable to order from Canada because the price of both the brand and generic medication is regulated by the government. Also, since we were established in 2006, our mission has always been to provide safe and affordable medicine to people in the US.

What does Azilect do for Parkinson's disease?

Azilect works by slowing down the breakdown of dopamine in the brain. Dopamine is the chemical that sends information to other parts of the brain that control movement and coordination. In early Parkinson's disease, Azilect can be used as a single drug therapy to slow progression of symptoms. Source
