Indications

Stiolto Respimat is an inhaler used to prevent obstructions in airways and reduce attacks in those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

This inhaler medication combines tiotropium bromide with olodaterol to relax muscles in your airways to improve airflow and prevent obstructions that cause bronchospasm attacks. Tiotropium inhibits muscarinic receptors while olodaterol agonizes adrenergic receptors to improve lung function.

Combining tiotropium and olodaterol makes Stiolto Respimat a significantly effective treatment for COPD that doesn’t respond as well to monotherapy of either drug. This inhaler medication improves quality of life by reducing pulmonary obstructions and attacks.

Uses and Dosage

The dose of Stiolto Respimat will vary depending on the individual and bronchial condition being treated. Follow all your doctor’s instructions and read packaging labels carefully to ensure the best results during treatment.

  • Insert cartridge into the Stiolto Respimat inhaler to prime the unit before first use

  • If not used for longer than three days, actuate once to prepare the inhaler
  • If not used for longer than 21 days, actuate inhaler until a cloud is visible
  • Most adults take two inhalations once a day
  • Do not inhale more than twice within 24 hours
  • Do not change your dose or stop using the inhaler without first speaking to a doctor

FAQ

How can Stiolto Respimat help?

Stiolto Respimat sends a soft mist into your respiratory system to relax muscles that open your airways to improve airflow. This helps the inhaler decrease your need to use rescue inhalers by preventing obstructions and reducing the frequency of bronchospasm attacks in those with COPD.

What is the difference between rescue and maintenance treatment?

Rescue medications treat bronchospasm attacks after they have begun while maintenance therapies, such as Stiolto Respimat, slowly relax the muscles in your airways to improve airflow. Maintenance treatments are designed to prevent and reduce attacks by slowly acting on your respiratory system.
