Advair Inhaler Information:

Advair Inhaler (Generic name: Fluticasone and Salmeterol) is an oral inhaler used to prevent asthma attacks and treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Advair Inhaler contains two types of asthma medications. One is Fluticasone Propionate, a steroid that reduces inflammation in the lungs. The other, Salmeterol Xinafoate, is a long-acting bronchodilator that opens up the airways. Together, the two ingredients provide better control of asthma than either does individually. Advair Inhaler Discus helps prevent asthma symptoms from occurring in the first place. Use Advair inhaler exactly as it was prescribed for you.

The most common Advair Inhaler side effects include bronchitis, coughing, diarrhea, headache, nausea, vomiting, and throat irritation. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as blurred vision, difficulty breathing, fever, hives, swelling of lips, tongue or throat, uneven heart beats, or worsening asthma symptoms, please inform your doctor immediately.

Advair Precautions:

Do NOT use Advair medication to treat an asthma attack that has already begun. Do NOT take Advair Inhaler if you are allergic to Fluticasone (Flonase, Flovent) or Salmeterol (Serevent). Before using Advair Inhaler, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as food or drug allergy, heart disease, high blood pressure, seizure, infection, weak immune system, diabetes, glaucoma, tuberculosis, osteoporosis, a thyroid disorder or liver disease. Tell your doctor about all the prescriptions or over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Advair Inhaler drug, especially of: antifungals, beta blockers, diuretics, digoxin, MAOIs, long-acting beta agonists, protease inhibitors, and tricyclic antidepressants. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
