What is Aldara Cream?

Aldara Cream (Imiquimod) is a prescription medication that helps with the treatment of actinic keratosis (rough, scaly patch on the skin), superficial basal cell carcinoma (skin cancer) and genital warts.

It belongs to a class of drug called topical skin products, which works by penetrating into the skin and binding to immune cells to trigger them to release cytokines. Cytokines are small proteins that regulate the body’s natural defense to disease and infection.
