Indications

Aciphex is an antacid medication used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions relating to excess stomach acid. This medication also helps encourage healing of duodenal ulcers or erosive esophagitis.

Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces stomach acid production by inducing the secretion of gastric acid. This mechanism allows Aciphex to treat and prevent conditions related to excessive stomach acid.

Uses and Dosage

The dose of Aciphex prescribed will depend on the individual and condition being treated. Always follow your doctor’s instructions and read packaging labels carefully.

  • Swallow tablets whole
  • For duodenal ulcer treatment, take after a meal
  • For other conditions, take with or without food
  • Most adults take 20mg once daily
  • Most treatments last 4 to 8 weeks
  • Do not take two doses at once
  • Take Aciphex for the entire length of time prescribed
  • Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat
