Teveten Plus (Eprosartan/HCTZ) is a prescription medication used to treat mild to moderate high blood pressure. Your blood pressure changes throughout the day based on your activities. However, having a consistently above-normal blood pressure may result in hypertension. High blood pressure often has no symptoms, but it increases your risk of heart disease and stroke. The active ingredients in Teveten Plus are Eprosartan and HCTZ. Eprosartan belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin II receptor blockers. It works by relaxing the blood vessels to lower blood pressure. HCTZ (Hydrochlorothiazide) belongs to a class of medications called thiazide diuretics. It helps control blood pressure by removing excess salt and water.

We currently offer the brand Teveten Plus from Turkey manufactured by Solvay Pharma in the strength of 600mg/12.5mg tablets. The generic Eprosartan/HCTZ is not available.
Get medical help immediately if you have any of these signs or an allergic reaction while using Teveten Plus. The most common side effects of Teveten Plus may include the following:
• Appetite loss;
• Cough;
• Diarrhea;
• Headache;
• Runny nose
Contact your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects, including:
• Anxiety;
• Constipation;
• Signs of low blood pressure such as dizziness, fainting, light-headedness;
• Skin changes such as lumps, discolored patches, or moles;
• Vision changes
These are not all of the side effects of Teveten Plus. Always contact your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms.
You should not use Teveten Plus if you are allergic to Eprosartan, HCTZ, or any ingredient in Teveten Plus. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you:
• Are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed;
• Are pregnant or planning to be pregnant;
• Have an electrolyte imbalance;
• Have diabetes;
• Have heart problems;
• Have intolerance to sugars like fructose or galactose;
• Have lupus;
• Have severe kidney dysfunction;
• Have severe liver problems
Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be drug interactions between Teveten Plus and other medicines, like aliskiren, prazosin, losartan, levodopa, amiodarone, loratadine, carbamazepine, etc. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Eprosartan may harm your unborn baby or even cause death if taken after the first trimester. Your doctor will prescribe more appropriate medication to control your blood pressure in pregnancy. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. It is unknown if Eprosartan or HCTZ passes into breast milk. Your doctor may prescribe another treatment if you wish to breastfeed, especially if your baby is a newborn or was born prematurely. Teveten Plus is a tablet. You can take this drug with or without food at any time of day. However, establish a routine with this medication. For instance, if you take the medication with food in the morning, continue to take it with food in the morning. Swallow the tablet whole with plenty of fluid, such as a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablets. Avoid drinking alcohol when using Teveten Plus to prevent fatigue or dizziness. Store at room temperature, away from moisture and light. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
