Proctofoam (Hydrocortisone/Pramoxine) is a prescription medication foam that helps treat skin irritation and symptoms of hemorrhoids or rectal irritation. This is a combination of two medications: hydrocortisone, which is a corticosteroid, and pramoxine, which is an anesthetic.

How to use Proctofoam HC

  • Proctofoam HC medication, a rectal foam, comes in a combination dosage strength of 1% of Hydrocortisone and 1% of Pramoxine. 
  • To treat topical inflammation, apply this medication to the affected area every 6 to 8 hours, depending on the severity of your condition.   
  • To treat hemorrhoids, apply this medication rectally every 6 to 8 hours.
