Isosorbide Dinitrate Indication

Isosorbide Dinitrate (generic option for Isordil), is used to prevent symptoms of angina caused by heart disease. Isosorbide Dinitrate can be used alone or with other medicines. This medication is not designed for the immediate relief of acute attacks of chest pain. It works by relaxing the blood vessels in the body, allowing them to expand. This allows more blood to flow through the blood vessels, reducing the work the heart has to do in order to pump blood. This reduces the oxygen needs of the heart and eases chest pain.

Store Isosorbide Dinitrate at room temperature. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store Isosorbide Dinitrate in the bathroom. Keep away from the reach of children and pets.
