Temodar (Temozolomide) is used to treat certain types of brain cancer. Temozolomide belongs to a class of drugs called alkylating agents. This medication works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells. Temodar is combined with radiation therapy to treat brain tumor. This medication is usually given after other cancer medications have been tried without success.

We currently offer the brand Temodar also called Temodal from Turkey manufactured by Schering. The generic version is not available.
Seek emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction to this medication. The common side effects of Temodar may include bruising or purple spots, constipation, fatigue, hair loss, headache, loss of appetite, pain or irritation at the injection site, nausea, seizure, and vomiting.
Contact your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur:
• A seizure;
• Signs of low blood cell counts;
• Symptoms of Liver problems;
• Sudden chest pain or discomfort;
• Wheezing, dry cough
This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Please call your doctor if you have any further concerns or questions.
Do not use Temodar if you are allergic to temozolomide or dacarbazine. Prior to taking this medication, inform your doctor if you’ve had kidney problems, or liver problems. Tell your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, nonprescription, herbal products, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Temodar and other medications. Avoid being near people who are sick or have infections. Men should not donate semen while using Temodar and for at least 90 days after the last dose. This medication can harm an unborn baby if the mother or the father is using this medication. Women may need a pregnancy test to make sure you are not pregnant and use birth control for at least six months after your last dose. Men should use birth control for at least three months of your last dose if you partner is able to get pregnant. Do not breastfeed while using this medication and for at least one week after your last dose.
