Usage

Actos (Pioglitazone) is a prescription oral diabetes medication that is used with diet and exercise to lower blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. This medication is not used to treat type 1 diabetes. Pioglitazone belongs to the group of medications known as thiazolidinediones. Pioglitazone helps insulin to work more effectively. It may be used alone when the blood sugar is not controlled by diet and exercise or in combination with other diabetes medication such as metformin. Actos will start lowering our blood sugar shortly after you begin taking it.

Side Effects
