Table of contents:

Edronax (generically known as Roboxetine) is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor that has been used in the treatment of depression. It is indicated for the acute treatment of depressive illness/major depression and for maintaining the clinical improvement in patients initially responded to reboxetine.

Edronax (Reboxetine mesilate) works by increasing the levels of noradrenaline in the brain, which is thought to play a role in regulating mood. Specifically, Edronax blocks the reuptake of noradrenaline by nerve cells in the brain, which leads to an increase in the amount of noradrenaline available in the brain. This increase in noradrenaline may help to improve symptoms of depression in some patients.

Use and Dosage

Edronax is prescribed as a 4mg tablet to be taken orally before or after food. It may take a week or two after starting the tablets before you start feeling the effects. Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. Edronax tablets can be broken in half along the break line if your doctor has prescribed a half tablet.

The recommended therapeutic dose of Edronax is 4 mg to be taken twice daily (i.e., a total of 8 mg per day) administered orally. However, the dosages may vary based on individual factors such as age, tolerability, and medical history, follow the dosage instructions provided by your healthcare provider and on the medication packaging.

Take Edronax tablet at about the same time each day, once in the morning and once at night. Taking the tablet at the same time each day will have the best effect. It will also help you remember when to take it.

If a dose of Edronax is missed, patients should take it as soon as possible. If it is close to the time for the next dose, patients should skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
