Lidex (Fluocinonide) is a prescription medication used to treat several skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, allergies, and rash. The drug reduces pain, swelling, and inflammation that occurs with these conditions. The active ingredient in Lidex is Fluocinonide. Fluocinonide belongs to a class of medications known as topical corticosteroids. It works by constricting the capillaries to reduce pain and swelling.

There may be drug interactions between Lidex and aldesleukin and other medicines containing corticosteroids. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. It is unknown if Lidex will affect a fetus. Your doctor will assess if this medication is safe to use in pregnancy. It is not known if Lidex is excreted in breast milk. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. Lidex is available in gel, cream, and ointment. Use Lidex precisely as prescribed by your doctor. Apply a small amount of the medication to the affected area 2 to 4 times daily and rub it in well. Lidex is for topical use only. Do not take it by mouth. Avoid applying this drug to sensitive areas like the face, underarms, or groin unless specified by your doctor. After applying Fluocinonide, do not cover the area with bandage or heavy clothing. Severe irritation can occur if this drug contacts the eye. Immediately flush your eyes with water if this happens. Wash your hangs with soap and water after every use. Store Lidex at room temperature, away from light and moisture.
