Muro 128 Ophthalmic 2% (Sodium Chloride) is an over the counter medication used to reduce swelling of the surface of the eye caused by surgery, infection, trauma, or other eye conditions. This medication works by drawing fluid out of the cornea to reduce swelling. Decreasing swelling of the cornea may lessen eye discomfort or irritation caused by the swelling. Instill 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 3 or 4 hours, or as directed by a doctor.

We currently offer the brand Muro 128 Ophthalmic eye ointment and eye drops from Canada by Bausch & Lomb. The generic Sodium Chloride eye drops comes from Canada by a different manufacturer.

The common side effect of Muro 128 Ophthalmic includes mild burning or irritation in your eyes.

Seek emergency medical assistance if you have any signs of an allergic reaction. Stop using Muro 128 and call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Changes in vision;
• Eye pain;
• Severe or ongoing eye redness or irritation;
• Worsening of your eye condition

Do not use Muro 128 Ophthalmic if you are allergic to Sodium Chloride or if you have any other allergies. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history especially if you have other eye problems. There may be a drug interaction between Sodium Chloride and other medications. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
