Dicetel Information
Dicetel (Pinaverium Bromide) is used to treat symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, which include abdominal pain, bowel disturbance, and intestinal discomfort. Gastrointestinal calcium antagonists like Pinaverium Bromide relax the muscles lining the intestines to ease irritation. Pinaverium is also used to relieve gallbladder symptoms associated with bile secretion.
Dicetel Side Effects
The most common side effects of Dicetel may include bloating, constipation, drowsiness, headache, and stomach pain. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects, such as:
• Difficulty swallowing;
• Heartburn;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, breathing difficulties, or itching or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat;
• Throat or chest pain
Dicetel Precautions
Do not use Dicetel if you are allergic to Pinaverium Bromide or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you think you may be pregnant or, plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Dicetel and other medications. Do not use Dicetel if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. It is unknown if this medication will harm your unborn baby. The drug should only be used in pregnancy if the benefits outweigh the risks. Do not use Dicetel while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. It is unknown if Pinaverium Bromide passes into your breastmilk or if it may harm nursing infants. It is unknown if this drug is safe for use in children. Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the drug whole. Do not suck or chew on the tablets. Do not swallow the table when lying down or just before bedtime. Store this medication at room temperature and keep it out of the reach of children.
