Noxafil (Posaconazole) is a prescription medication used to treat or prevent fungal infections from spreading throughout the body. This drug is used in patients with weak immune systems resulting from certain treatments like chemotherapy or stem cell transplantation. People with weak immune systems have difficulty fighting off fungal spores and preventing them from becoming infections. Noxafil is also used to treat fungal infections in patients who do not respond or cannot tolerate other medicines used to treat such fungal infections. The active ingredient in Noxafil is Posaconazole. Posaconazole belongs to a class of medications called azole antifungals. It works by killing or slowing the growth of the fungi that causes infection.
