Renova Cream Information:
Renova (Generic name: Tretinoin Emollient Cream) is a prescription cream proven to reduce fine facial wrinkles associated with chronic sun exposure and the natural aging process. Tretinoin is a vitamin A derivative. It works by affecting the growth of skin cells. However, it does NOT repair sun-damaged skin or reverse aging due to sun exposure. Renova should be used with a skin care and sunlight-avoidance program that includes moisturizer and daily use of an effective sunscreen (minimum SPF 15). Use Renova cream exactly as it was prescribed. You will begin to notice the Renova results after 2 to 3 weeks of treatment. More than 6 or 7 weeks of Renova treatment are needed before consistent beneficial effects appear.
Renova Cream Side Effects:
The most common Renova side effects are dryness, itching, peeling, redness, slight burning or tingling sensation. Apply Renova skin cream to face only. If Renova cream causes an abnormal irritation, redness, blistering, or peeling of the skin, inform your doctor immediately.
Renova Cream Precautions:
Do NOT use Renova if you are allergic to Tretinoin or any of the ingredients in Renova cream. Avoid using Renova topical if you have eczema or any other skin conditions. Renova medication may make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths, and sunlamps. Avoid electrolysis, waxing and chemical depilatories for hair removal on the treated areas while using Renova skin care product. If you have recently used products containing sulfur, resorcinol or salicylic acid, use Tretinoin cream with caution. Tell your doctor about all the prescriptions and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Renova drug, especially some drugs may increase sensitivity to sunlight: antibiotics, sulfa drugs, thiazide drugs, tranquilizers (water pills). Other topical medications/preparations that may dry or irritate the skin.
