Clindesse Information

Clindesse (Clindamycin phosphate) is used to treat bacterial vaginosis in women who are not pregnant. Bacterial vaginosis is a vaginal infection that can cause discomfort and pain in the vagina. This condition happens when there is an imbalance in the natural bacterial levels in the vagina. A balanced bacterial level keeps the vagina healthy. Bacterial vaginosis is more likely to happen during reproductive years. The changes in hormones during this time makes it easier for certain kinds of bacteria to grow. The condition is also more likely to happen in sexually active women. Lincomycin antibiotics like Clindamycin phosphate work by stopping the growth of bacteria.
