Aczone (Dapsone) gel is a prescription antiinfective topical medication that is used to treat acne vulgaris. The mechanism of the action in treating acne is not known.

We currently have the brand name Aczone topical gel from Canada manufactured by Valeant. The generic is not available. Aczone gel is available in the strength of 5% topical gel.

The common side effects of Aczone may include:
• Dryness;
• Oiliness;
• Peeling of the skin being treated;
• Redness;
• Unusually warm skin

You should not use Aczone Topical Gel 5% if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you are younger than 12 years of age.
