Indications

Xalatan is an ophthalmic glaucoma medicine used to treat certain types of glaucoma and conditions that cause increased eye pressure.

Latanoprost is a prostoglandin analogue that increases fluid drainage from your eye. This action helps decrease the amount of pressure that can build in your eyes due to glaucoma and other conditions. When applied topically, Xalatan helps treat glaucoma and other causes of high intraocular pressure by promoting the outflow of fluids from your eyes.

FAQ

What does Xalatan do?

Xalatan increases the amount of fluid that is drained from your eyes. By draining this excess fluid, this medication helps treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension which can cause fluid to build up in your eyes. Thanks to this, Xalatan not only helps treat these conditions but can reduce your risk of developing vision loss.

How often per day should Xalatan be used?

You should only use Xalatan once each day. Using these eye drops too much could decrease the effectiveness of the medication at lowering your eye pressure while increasing side effects. If you forget to use Xalatan one day, administer one drop as usual the following day; do not instill 2 drops to make up for the missed dose.
