Usage

Avoid drinking alcohol while using Fluanxol as it may worsen drowsiness or sleepiness. Standing up slowly, especially when you get up from bed or chairs, will help your body get used to the change in position and blood pressure.

You should not use Fluanxol if you:
• Are allergic (hypersensitive) to flupentixol, other thioxanthene drugs or antipsychotic drugs, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
• Feeling less alert than usual, or are tired or sleepy, or have serious problems with your blood circulation;
• Have severe depression, which needs you to stay in hospital or if you need electroconvulsive therapy (ECT);
• Suffering from periods of excitement, overactivity, or mania

Before you start using Fluanxol, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• A heart condition (including an irregular heartbeat) or severe breathing problems (such as asthma or bronchitis);
• Enlarged prostate or suffer from a condition known as phaeochromocytoma;
• Kidney diseases;
• Liver problems;
• Parkinson's disease, or myasthenia gravis;
• Suffering from epilepsy, or have been told that you are at risk;
• Suffering from glaucoma;
• Thyroid problems
