Galvumet (Vildagliptin/Metformin Hydrochloride) is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in people who already take Vildagliptin and Metformin tablets separately and for those who cannot control their diabetes by metformin alone. Galvumet helps control the blood sugar level. It works by making the pancreas produce insulin and less glucagon and also by helping the body to make better use of the insulin it produces (effect of metformin). This medication should be combined with diet and exercise.

Do not take Galvumet if you are allergic to Vildagliptin or metformin or any other ingredients in the medication. Before you start taking this medication discard any other medicines that contain metformin. Galvumet contains metformin and more than one metformin-containing medicine is a significant risk for overdose. Galvumet should not be taken if you are pregnant.
