Feldene Information

Feldene (Piroxicam) is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by osteoarthrtis or rheumatoid arthritis. Piroxicam belongs to the class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). This medication works by blocking your body’s production of certain natural substances that causes inflammation. It helps reduce pain, inflammation and fever so you can do more of your daily normal activities. It may take several weeks of taking this medication regularly until you get the full benefit.

You should not take Feldene if you are allergic to Piroxicam or if you have ever had an asthma attack or severe allergic reaction after taking aspirin or an NSAID. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant because taking Feldene during the last three months of pregnancy may harm the unborn baby. This medication is not approved to be used by anyone younger than 18 years old. Do not take Asprin while you are taking Feldene.
