Usage

Astagraf XL (Tacrolimus Extended Release) is a prescription medication used with other drugs to prevent organ rejection in people who have had a kidney transplant. Tacrolimus is also used to treat eczema (atopic dermatitis) in people who have not responded well to other eczema medications. The active ingredient in Astagraf XL is Tacrolimus. Tacrolimus belongs to the class of medication called Immunosuppressants (Calcineurin Inhibitors). It works by lowering the activities of the immune system and preventing it from attacking the transplanted organ, as it attacks any foreign cells, which could otherwise lead to severe damage to the organ.

The common side effects of Astagraf XL are nausea, vomiting, tremor, recurrent infection, abdominal pain, itching, and skin rash.
