Product Details

Trandate (Labetalol) is used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and angina (chest pain). Labetalol is both an alpha blocker and a beta blocker medication. Trandate works by dilating, or enlarging, the blood vessels around the heart. This allows the blood to move more easily around the body, and reduces the strain and effort on the heart. Trandate may be used alone or in combination with other blood pressure medications. Trandate injections are used only when the hypertension is severe.

Common side effects of Trandate include dizziness, drowsiness, or tiredness, nausea or vomiting, sudden warmth, skin redness, or sweating, numbness, or a tingly feeling in your scalp. Contact your doctor if you notice more serious side effects such as light-headedness, slow heart rate, weak pulse, fainting, or slow breathing, shortness of breath, rapid weight gain, severe headache, blurred vision, or signs of liver problems. If you notice more serious side effects or signs of an allergic reaction, seek emergency medical attention.

You should not use Trandate if you are allergic to Labetalol, or if you have asthma, uncontrolled heart failure, low blood pressure, or other heart issues. To make sure Trandate is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had congestive heart failure, liver disease, breathing problems, adrenal tumours, diabetes, kidney disease, or allergies.
