CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the brand Dermatix scar gel from Canada manufactured by Bausch Health. The generic version is not available.

Dosage

Dermatix scar gel and Dermatix scar gel ultra is available in a 15 gm tube.

Usage

Dermatix Scar gel is an over-the-counter medication used to treat and prevent keloids and hypertrophic scars resulting from general surgical procedures, trauma wounds, and burns. Dermatix Scar gel contains topical silicone gel that rapidly dries to form an invisible “sheet.”. It flattens, softens and smooths scars, relieves the itching and discomfort of scarring, and reduces the discoloration associated with scars. Dermatix scar gel should be used after the wound has freshly healed, closed, no longer bleeding, stitches have been removed, and the skin surface becomes intact.

Side Effects and Precautions

Generally, Dermatix Ultra gel does not cause irritation, redness or pain. If any side effects occur, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

The following are steps involve in the application of Dermatix topical gel:
• Dermatix gel is simple to apply and should be used as directed by your doctor with optimal contact with the skin is vital for efficacy;
• Clean the area to be treated with mild soap and water, pat dry. Most skin irritation due to occlusive patches occurs from maceration or poor hygiene. Maceration is when the skin becomes pale, moist, wrinkled and soggy, such as when the plaster has been on for too long;
• Gently spread a skinny coat over the affected area to ensure that Dermatix self-dries in 4-5 minutes;
• Allow to dry for 4-5 minutes before covering with make-up allows for discreet scar remodeling

Tell your doctor if you are allergic to silicone gel; you should avoid using Dermatix scar gel and other silicone gel preparations as they may cause redness, itching and irritation.
