Usage

Nuvaring Vaginal Ring (Etonogestrel/Ethinyl Estradiol) is a combination hormone medication used to prevent pregnancy. Nuvaring contains two hormones, a progestin which Etonogestrel and an estrogen which is Ethinyl Estradiol. This medication works by preventing the release of an egg during your menstrual cycle. Nuvaring also makes the vaginal fluid thicker to help prevent sperm from reaching an egg and changes the lining of the uterus to prevent a fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus. One Nuvaring Vaginal Ring lasts for three weeks.

Side Effects and Precautions

Stop using the medication and get medical care if you have an allergic reaction. Signs of an allergic reaction may include difficulty breathing, hives (rash on your body), swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat—If you experience any of these symptoms, please call 911 or seek emergency medical care at the nearest emergency room (ER).

There may be a drug interaction with other medications. NuvaRing does not protect against HIV infection and other sexually transmitted infections.
