Usage

Estradot (Estradiol-17B) transdermal patch is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that is only available with a prescription by a healthcare professional. This patch contains the active ingredient estradiol. Estradiol is a type of estrogen that is produced by the ovaries. During menopause, the amount of estrogen made by the ovaries declines.

When an Estradiol patch is applied, it releases estradiol into your blood through the skin. This medication is also used to prevent osteoporosis in menopausal women. HRT is not used for the long-term maintenance of general health or to prevent heart disease or dementia.. Women who have not had a hysterectomy must also take another female hormone called progestin while taking this medication to prevent complications associated with taking estrogen alone.
