Luvox (Fluvoxamine) is a prescription medication used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Fluvoxamine belongs to a class of medications called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressants, and works by helping to restore the balance of a certain natural substance (serotonin) in the brain. This helps to decrease persistent or unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and urges to perform repeated tasks (compulsions).
