Duricef (Cefadroxil) is used to treat different types of bacterial infections such as infections of the skin, throat, tonsils, and urinary tract. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as cephalosporin antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections, it will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections. Do not use antibiotics when they are not needed; as it increases your risk of getting an infection later that resists antibiotic treatment.
