Usage

Arimidex (Anastrozole) is a prescription medication used to treat breast cancer in post-menopausal women. Anastrozole belongs to a class of drugs called aromatase inhibitors, which works by lowering estrogen hormone levels. You should not take Arimidex if you are allergic to Anastrozole or to any of its ingredients. Arimidex is not approved for use in men and children. Arimidex may harm an unborn baby. Even though post-menopausal women are not likely to get pregnant, doctors typically order a pregnancy test before starting treatment. You should use an effective method of birth control if you are not past menopause. Keep using birth control for at least 3 weeks after the last dose of Arimidex. Tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant.
