Anaprox Information

Anaprox (Naproxen Sodium) relieves pain from several conditions, including headaches, tendonitis, muscle aches, menstrual cramps, and dental pain. The drug also reduces pain, swelling, and stiffness from arthritis, bursitis, and gout attacks. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like Anaprox block the body’s production of certain natural substances that cause inflammation.

Anaprox Side Effects

The most common side effects of Anaprox may include dizziness, drowsiness, headache, heartburn, nausea, and upset stomach. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Blurred vision;
• Difficulty swallowing;
• Mood changes;
• Signs of kidney problems such as changes in frequency of urination, bloody urine, swelling in the hands and feet

Anaprox Precautions

Do not use Anaprox if you are allergic to Naproxen Sodium or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have asthma, bleeding problems, anemia, heart disease, liver disease, a stroke, and stomach problems. Tell your doctor if you think you may be pregnant or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all the medications you take, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Anaprox and other medications, like aliskiren, prednisone, furosemide, losartan, warfarin, and ibuprofen. Do not use Anaprox if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. This medication can harm your unborn baby and cause complications with normal delivery if used from 20 weeks of pregnancy. This medicine is not recommended for use between 20 weeks of pregnancy and delivery. Do not use Anaprox while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. Naproxen Sodium passes into your breastmilk, and it may harm nursing infants. It is not known if this drug is safe for use in children below 12 years of age. Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take this drug by mouth with a full glass of water. You can take the drug with food, milk, or an antacid to prevent stomach upset. Do not lie down for at least 10 minutes after using this drug. For certain conditions, like arthritis, it may take up to two weeks of using the drug regularly to get the full benefit. If you use this drug when needed, it is best to use it at the first signs of pain. Drink plenty of fluids while using this drug to prevent dehydration. Naproxen sodium may make you dizzy or drowsy. Do not take alcohol when using the drug. Alcohol can increase drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive, use machinery, or perform any activity that requires alertness until you can perform it safely. Store this medication at room temperature and keep it out of the reach of children.
