Kazano is a prescription medication used to help control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar will help to prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs and sexual function problems. This medication contains two active ingredients: Alogliptin and Metformin. Alogliptin works by regulating the levels of insulin produced by your body after you eat. Metformin works by decreasing glucose production in the liver and decreasing absorption of glucose in the intestines. Do not take this medication if you are allergic, have breathing problems, kidney disease, liver problems, stone in gallbladder, vitamin B12 deficiency or disease of the pancreas.
