Maxitrol Eye Information:
Maxitrol (Neomycin, Polymyxin B and Dexamethasone) is a form of antibiotic, that is used to treat bacterial infections if the eye. Dexamethasone is a steroid and it is used within this medication to treat any swellings that may occur as a result of the infection within the eye. The medication is available on prescription only and is currently pregnancy category C; this means that the risk of any problems to your unborn child cannot be ruled out.
Maxitrol Precautions:
There are no serious side effects which are associated with the use of this medication; however there is a chance that you may experience some slight burning or tingling symptoms. Blurred vision, some swelling of the eye and also some sensitivity to light may also be side affects you may encounter from the use of this infection.
It is important that if you do experience any side effects whilst you are using this medication, that you report them to your doctor. If the symptoms of the side effect seem to become worse over time, then you should seek emergency medical aid. There is also the chance of an allergic reaction to this medication, if you experience hives, swellings to the face or neck then you should seek emergency medical aid.
