Zyban (Bupropion Hydrochloride sustained-release tablets) is a prescription medication that is used to help you stop smoking. Bupropion belongs to the family of medications known as antidepressants. It works by reducing your nicotine withdrawal symptoms (e.g., irritability, anxiety, restlessness) and your smoking urges. Quitting smoking decreases your risk of heart and lung disease as well as cancer.

Side Effects

This medication may cause blurred vision, dizziness, and drowsiness. Alcohol or marijuana can make you more dizzy. Do not drive or perform any activity that requires alertness until you can do it safely. Talk to your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, OTC, and herbal medications. Also tell them about any vitamins and supplements you take. There may be an interaction between Zyban and other medications. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Zyban should not be used by anyone younger than18 years old. This medicine may interfere with certain medical/laboratory tests.
