Galexos Information

Galexos Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the brand Galexos from Canada manufactured by Janssen. The generic version is unavailable. Our customers may also purchase other hepatitis medications such as Daklinza and Mavyret.

Dosage

The brand Galexos comes in the strength of 150 mg capsules only.

Usage

Galexos (Simeprevir) is used to treat hepatitis C infection caused by ‘genotype 1’ or ‘genotype 4’ hepatitis C virus (HCV) in adults with stable liver disease who have not been previously treated or who have failed prior treatment. Galexos is a type of anti-HCV drug called a protease inhibitor. Galexos is used with other medicines for the treatment of hepatitis C infection. Galexos inhibits a viral enzyme (protease) which prevents the virus from multiplying, thus helping to reduce the infection. When used together with other medicines for treating your hepatitis C infection, Galexos helps to reduce the HCV in your body. Hepatitis C can be passed to other individuals through contact with infected blood. Talk with your healthcare provider about ways to prevent spreading the hepatitis C virus. Galexos should not be used by anyone under 18 years of age. Always take Galexos with food. Take this medicine by mouth. Swallow the capsule whole with water or liquid. Try to take Galexos at the same time each day. Always take Galexos exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Galexos may include itching of the skin, skin rash; increased bilirubin levels in your blood; being sensitive to sunlight (photosensitivity); constipation. Stop using Galexos and call your doctor right away if you have sensitivity to sunlight- sunburn, blistering, redness of the skin, swelling of the skin. This is not a complete list of side effects. For any unexpected effects while taking Galexos , contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Warnings and Interactions

Galexos combination treatment may affect your ability to drive and use machines. Do not drive or use machines if you feel faint or have problems with your vision. The use of Galexos in combination with peginterferon alfa and ribavirin is associated with skin rash reactions which may be severe. Contact your doctor if you develop symptoms of skin rash.
