Avoid drinking alcohol; as it lowers your blood sugar and may increase your risk of lactic acidosis. This medication may lower your blood sugar and make you feel very hungry, dizzy, irritable, confused or shaky. To quickly treat this, eat or drink a fast-acting source of sugar such as fruit juice, hard candy, crackers, raisins, or non-diet soda). Tell your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Metformin and other medications. Glumetza may stimulate ovulation in premenopausal women and increase the risk of pregnancy. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant. You should not breastfeed while using this medication.
