CanadaPharmacyOnline.com offers Serevent at very competitive prices. We currently have the brand Serevent inhaler from the United Kingdom known as Serevent Evohaler manufactured by GSK. We also carry the brand Serevent diskus from Canada and New Zealand manufactured by GSK. The generic version is currently unavailable.

Dosage

Serevent inhaler is available in the strength of 25 mcg/120 dose and Serevent diskus is available in the strength of 50 mcg/60 dose.

Usage

Serevent (Salmeterol) is a prescription inhalation powder that is used to prevent asthma attacks or and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Salmeterol is a bronchodilator. It works by relaxing muscles and opening air passages to improve breathing. This medication should not be used alone to treat asthma. It should only be used long-term if your asthma symptoms are not controlled by your other asthma medications. Serevent does not work right away and should not be used for sudden attacks or breathing problems. For sudden asthma attacks, you should use a quick-relief inhaler such as Albuterol, Proair, and Proventil.

Side Effects and Precautions

Stop using the medication and get medical care if you have an allergic reaction. Signs of an allergic reaction may include difficulty breathing, hives (rash on your body), swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat—If you experience any of these symptoms, please call 911 or seek emergency medical care at the nearest emergency room (ER).

The common side effects of Serevent may include: cough, dry mouth or throat, headache, hoarseness, nervousness, rapid heartbeat, throat irritation, and upset stomach. Notify your doctor or seek emergency medical care if you have any serious side effects such as:
• Chest pain;
• Fainting;
• Fast, slow or irregular heartbeat;
• Severe dizziness;
• Seizures

The above information is a summary and may not contain all information. If you still have questions about side effects, you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist so they can address all your concerns.

Warnings and Interactions

You should not use Serevent if you are allergic to Salmeterol or to milk proteins or to any of the ingredients in this medication. You should also tell your doctor about your medical history especially of:
• A drug or food allergy;
• Diabetes;
• Epilepsy or seizure disorder;
• Heart disease (heart failure, QT prolongation);
• High blood pressure;
• Liver disease;
• Thyroid disorder

Do not use a second form of salmeterol (such as Advair) or similar inhaled bronchodilator unless your doctor advises you to. Talk to your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, OTC, and herbal medications. Also tell them about any vitamins and supplements you take. There may be an interaction between Serevent and other medications, especially: antibiotics, antifungals, antiviral medicines, heart or blood pressure medicines, MAO inhibitors, nefazodone, etc. Serevent should NOT be used in children younger than 4 years old.
