Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Mydfrin are pretty rare, and many people have none at all. The serious side effects may include:

• Anxiety
• Buzzing in your ears
• Chest pain or pressure
• Fast or irregular heart rate
• Pale skin, light-headedness
• Severe headache
• Shortness of breath
• Sweating and tremors

You should not take Mydfrin if you are allergic to phenylephrine hydropchloride or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you currently take including OTC and herbal medications. Do not use this medication while wearing contact lenses. Because it can impair your vision temporarily, be careful if you have to drive or do anything that requires you to be able to see clearly. It is not known how this medication could affect an unborn or nursing baby. There may be an interaction between Mydfrin and other medications. Talk to your doctor about the risks.
