FAQ
What to avoid when taking Prevacid?
When taking Prevacid DR, it’s best to avoid taking your dose at the same time as sucralfate if you also take that medication. Sucralfate can prevent your body from absorbing Prevacid fully if taken less than 30 minutes before your dose.
Consult your healthcare provider to learn more about your treatment.
Is Prevacid safe to take long term?
Prevacid DR is usually taken short term to treat stomach and esophageal issues related to conditions with excess stomach acid. Those with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome may be prescribed to take Prevacid DR daily for a longer period of time. If you take more than prescribed for longer than prescribed, your risk of developing side effects increases and you may be more likely to break a bone.
