Pancrease MT Information

Pancrease MT (Pancreatic Enzymes (Lipase, Protease, Amylase)) is a prescription medication used to help the body digest fat, protein, and sugars in people with medical conditions that prevent the pancreas from producing enough enzymes to help with digestion. These conditions include cystic fibrosis, pancreatitis, and pancreatic disease. Pancreatic enzymes like lipase, protease, and amylase help to break down and digest fats, starch, and proteins in food.

Pancrease MT Side Effects

The most common side effects of Pancrease MT may include diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, gas, and nausea. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Frequent urination;
• Severe abdominal pain;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as abdominal cramps, breathing difficulties, swelling of the face, tongue, or throat

Pancrease MT Precautions

Do not use Pancrease MT if you are allergic to Lipase, Protease, Amylase, or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have acute pancreatitis, kidney disease, intestinal blockage, diabetes, hyperuricemia, think you may be pregnant or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. There may be a drug interaction between Pancrease MT and other medications, like multivitamins plus mineral supplements. Do not use Pancrease MT if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. It is unknown if this medication will harm your unborn baby. The drug should only be used in pregnancy if the benefits outweigh the risks. Do not use Pancrease MT while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. It is unknown if pancreatic enzymes (lipase, protease, and amylase) pass into your breast milk or if they may harm nursing infants. It is unknown if this drug is safe for use in children. Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Take this drug by mouth with meals or snacks, as directed by your doctor. Swallow the capsule whole. Do not crush, break, or chew the capsules. If swallowing is difficult, you can open the contents and mix in a small amount of liquid. Do not mix the capsule's contents with alkaline food or liquid like milk, tea, or ice cream. Drink a glass of juice or water after swallowing the medication. Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. Store this medication at room temperature and keep it out of the reach of children.
