Xarelto Information:

Xarelto (Generic name: Rivaroxaban) is an anti-clotting drug used for the primary prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism (VTE) following orthopaedic surgery (hip or knee replacements and hip fracture). Rivaroxaban is an anticoagulants medication that prevents harmful blood clots from forming in the blood vessels by reducing the ability of the blood to clot. Rivaroxaban is used to prevent blood clots for people who have had total hip replacement or knee replacement surgery. Rivaroxaban Xarelto has proven it is more effective in preventing unnecessary deaths from hospital-acquired DVT (deep vein thrombosis) in patients undergoing elective hip or knee replacement surgery - one of the groups at highest risk. Take Xarelto exactly as it was prescribed for you.

The generic alternative is not manufactured by the company that makes the brand product. There is no generic available in Canada. We only dispense generic Rivaroxaban manufactured by Natco Pharma from India, it’s also known as Rpigat.
