Paxil Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com offers the brand Paxil from Canada, Turkey, and the United Kingdom (Seroxat) by GSK. The generic Paroxetine is available from Canada by Marcan or Actavis and the generic from India is called Parotin by Cipla and Pexep by Intas.

Dosage

The brand Paxil and the generic Paroxetine is available in the strength of 10 mg, 20 mg, and 30 mg tablets. We also carry the generic Paroxetine in the strength of 40 mg tablets.

Usage

Paxil (Paroxetine) is used for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD), generic anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety disorder (social phobia), panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Paroxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It works by increasing the levels of mood-enhancing chemical, serotonin, in the brain. Paxil may improve mood, sleep, appetite, and energy level so your quality of life may vastly improve. It may decrease anxiety, unwanted thoughts, and the number of panic attacks. It may also reduce the urge to perform tasks such as hand-washing, counting, and checking repeatedly so that it does not interfere with your daily lives.

Side Effects and Precautions

Stop using the medication and get medical care if you have an allergic reaction. Signs of an allergic reaction may include difficulty breathing, hives (rash on your body), swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat—If you experience any of these symptoms, please call 911 or seek emergency medical care at the nearest emergency room (ER).

The common side effects of Paxil may include constipation, decreased sex drive, difficulty having an orgasm, diarrhea, dry mouth, fatigue, headache, infection, loss of appetite, sleep problems, sweating or anxiety, vision changes, and weakness. Seek immediate medical attention if you have symptoms of serotonin syndrome. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the following serious side effects:
• Changes in weight or appetite;
• Easy bruising or unusual bleeding;
• Feelings of extreme happiness or sadness;
• Low levels of sodium in the body;
• Racing thoughts or decreased need for sleep;
• Severe nervous system reaction;
• Swelling or bruising;
• Unusual bone pain or tenderness

The above information is a summary and may not contain all the side effect information. If you still have questions about side effects, you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist so they can address all your concerns.
